Composition finders, my 'Glitch bodies'. Drawings made on transparencies placed on other drawings create arrangements & play with compositions (body compositions in turn). Abstracted parts, plants multiplied divided, diagrammatical understanding misunderstood & in free fall.. (no Ai used)
Yet emotion must have got involved somewhere along the line.
Flux states of flow across these 'bauplans' mingle together & overlapping, it helps me understand a little bit more when I get the chance to do this, even if I'm not exactly sure what I'm understanding or if again in my life I've misunderstood the situation.

I think of these as my 'Glitch bodies'. Yet emotion must have got involved somewhere along the line.

'Tilted Christmas' oil on wood (20x25cm)
an unusual painting for me more like a painting practice in a way but I do feel although Christmassy it's was a reflection on this year where we've watched political evil open the grotesque theatre, to say the least. Palestinian, Ukrainian & many more people in diabolical situations, maybe this is endgame capitalism & it can't thrive in a planet with so many people esp in this computer age in the form it's in. I realised this was the first time I hated technological advancements, they used to be fun so I thought, now they're infiltrating the mind, behavior, feelings and do it through the parasitic nature of its imput.
So, this Tilted Christmas tree, in this dark cold lonely environment, under an ominously brooding sky, tilts on a cliff edge, new hopes in the fairy lights is skew, unravelling and being blown away.. but they're still on.

'The Diagonal Curve' follows my fantastic ability at learning things to come away getting it wrong or only half right. It seems many misunderstandings are rife in my drawings. We can all sound clever until put to the test!

I'm not sure a diagonal curve exists? The diagonal line was the plan in which the body had to follow (as if we can make our bodies follow instructions so grandiose and strict, but we keep trying).

The plant/flower here is the geranium, my go-to plant to draw, a real survivor in and outdoors, its medicinal but I also have personal reasons for this kinship. This is one of the first larger drawings I brought in oil pastel to drag across the paper, in its movement outwards, going over its threshold of the line, as organic growth does.

'Spontaneous Scatter' (on easel). Complexity isn't lazy, yet it can exist in flow, calm, in a brutal meditation. When will we relax on our oversimplifications? When complexity does actually exist. Proposals of all the potentialities of growth & form to see the positive potential within the conceptually horrific?
"I have no right using a scatter graph or any diagram" the surgeon said. And thought to himself: Yet I FEEL like I do understand something correct in the informational is what I'm beholding in front of my very eyes.

What if like death, the unknown growth turns out to be far more beautiful than anyone had ever imagined? Thinking positively about the potential of the unknowns, this body responds. Oh but doesn't it! Peace in the chaos of knowing that you'll never know, & still being intertwined with it, physically, emotionally geometrically!

Mistake making that eventually generate the biggest discoveries. Medical & botanical illustration untangle in art, as a picture flows uninhibited as energy through the flat pictorial plane with accident & intension.

'Spontaneous Correlation' A drawing built on accident, spray, scatter graph images from body scans, (as well as frustration, elation, disappointment & back again). Elements talk. Repetition within chaos, chaos is pattern not yet understood. Hehe weee weee. The organis grows, tries to repeat, to mirror, produce if possible, its not impossible, its all impossible.
Correlation without resolution equaling a communicative causation.

This artwork hung around so close to letting it go, so in annoyance I let go & worked into it more freely, so as I didn't really care to make the so-called mistakes - all amongst the obvious contrast of control, linear perfectionism and keeping the four parts at a small distance.
Making artwork isn't any one thing all of the time, though it possibly sounds more assertive to say it? I NEVER talk in absolutes! Ha. Gobbldygook.

Another artwork that seemed finished but wasn't satisfied, it hung around, so in annoyance I let go & worked into more freer as I didn't really care to make the so-called mistakes (amongst the linear perfectionism!). I don't find making artwork easy, those who say it's relaxing and lovely aren't really in the same conversation. To be honest making things isn't any one thing all of the time, though it possibly sounds better & more assertive to say it? I simply can't talk in absolutes. (In a world currently gorging itself attempting to dictate their absolute judgements whilst drunken on power).

Whereby I seek these disparate parts, elements, or Beings to be in any type of growthful connection & communication..

'Spontaneous Waveforms'. I have feelings involved here, in contrast, description in word form can be impressive yet you can feel how it works & doesn't work, my wordy description (as I attempt not to 'illustrate').

Attempt to describe this one, with my magical mushrooming flower doubling along precise controlling lines interweave with abstracting colour & energetic lines. A wave without gravity separates & follows the lines of hand as I push & pull my collage of elements. My sense of composition and structure is lost in various flows of the work or how working on this went.

These are all afterthoughts thoughts as I look up & down & across.

The drawing is composed of layered/collaged elements, dynamic combinations interplay between linear and organic forms. The wave structures, rendered in doubling and splitting motions. Lines of various thickness to add depth and movement. The pencil flower, mirrored and doubled, an organic element, a glitch in a way, in its symmetry and repetition. Ink is pure accident that composes & I then work from it's simple orchestration.
