‘Corrupt Organ Eruption’
Oil on wood with wood bracing ready to hang (30.5 x 30.5cm) 2026
This painting is a very current reflection; I see the current world going towards the violent. The absurdities we seem to want but don't realise the final outcomes. All the complexities that twist the body are all the more explicit, and multiplied. So I work with the authority of the illustrative without illustrating. My work plays with ideas of metamorphosis, change, flow, chaos. Something beautiful can always manifest from the most grotesque places. I believe, but I could be wrong. So much is wrong here. Including the making an image full of mistakes is the way of creativity, it doesn't stop if it's wrong or right, it continues outwards. In my broader practice, I manipulate the physical body, drawing heavily on medical science to frame human anatomy as mutable material. By treating flesh as a site of clinical intervention, I push physiological forms to their limits, where they want life and to live longer. This constant reconfiguration might expose our vulnerabilities, turning clinical observation into a visceral exploration of existence.
